Greater New England Area

You’ve built your career around winning business. You learned how to open doors, turn first conversations into real opportunities, navigate complex sales cycles, and earn the trust of people making consequential business decisions.
Over time, you’ve developed an instinct for where opportunity lives, the questions that uncover it, and the conversations that move a deal forward. You know what it takes to turn a prospect into a client and a client relationship into lasting business.
But as your career has evolved, so has what you’re looking for.
You still love the hunt. But you’re equally energized by the chance to invest in the next generation of sellers — helping them develop their instincts, build their confidence, and learn to navigate the complexity of consultative selling.
You want a role where those ambitions work together. Where you can carry your own bag while building the playbook, coaching developing talent, and creating the sales engine behind a company’s next chapter of growth. You’re not looking to inherit a finished machine or manage from the sidelines. You want to build something that works and show others how to make it work, too.
SQA Group is looking for a Senior Director of Sales to turn individual sales expertise into a repeatable growth engine: winning new business, developing consultative sellers, and building a sales organization that can grow beyond any one person’s performance.
This is not a traditional sales leadership role. It’s a player-coach opportunity for someone who knows how to win complex business, teach others to do the same, and build the system that makes great selling repeatable.
What You Will Own
At SQA Group, we help organizations architect what comes next.
We’re a 30-year-old technology services consultancy entering our next chapter of growth. Building on our roots in software engineering and technology modernization, we help executives navigate the interconnected challenges of data, AI, business performance, innovation, and the future of work.
Reporting directly to our CEO and partnering closely with our Executive Leadership Team, your focus will span four interconnected areas:
Win New Business: You’ll carry your own bag, personally building relationships, creating opportunities, and closing new business. You’ll identify target accounts, open doors with senior decision-makers, and lead consultative sales conversations that uncover business challenges and shape the right solutions. From initial outreach and discovery through proposals, negotiation, and close, you’ll own the work of turning opportunities into revenue.
Build a Repeatable Sales Motion: You’ll turn what works into a sales approach others can learn and execute. You’ll establish practical playbooks and frameworks for prospecting, discovery, qualification, solution shaping, value articulation, and closing — bringing consistency to how we sell without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. You’ll continually refine our approach based on client conversations, market feedback, and sales results.
Develop the Next Generation of Sellers: You’ll help hire, train, and coach developing sellers through the work itself. That means preparing for discovery, practicing questions, reviewing calls, working through live opportunities, and providing direct, actionable feedback. You’ll model what good looks like, coach others through the process, and progressively equip them to own more of the sales cycle themselves.
Build the Engine for Sustainable Growth: You’ll establish the operating discipline that helps our sales organization grow with intention. You’ll define target-account strategies, pipeline and qualification standards, CRM practices, forecasting, and performance measures — using them to improve pipeline quality, win rates, revenue, and gross-margin performance. You’ll also partner closely with Marketing, Solutions, and Delivery to shape differentiated proposals, align the right expertise to each opportunity, ensure engagements are set up for success, and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts.
Who You Are
- Proven hunter. 7-10+ years experience in a quota-carrying role within consulting, professional services, or technology advisory. You’ve personally sourced, developed, and closed new-logo business in a complex B2B environment, ideally in professional services, consulting, or technology.
- Consultative seller. You know how to lead sophisticated discovery, uncover underlying business needs, navigate multiple stakeholders, and connect business challenges to solutions that create measurable value.
- Builder of repeatable practices. You’ve developed or improved sales processes, playbooks, and operating rhythms that make effective selling more consistent and teachable.
- Hands-on coach. You’ve helped less-experienced sellers develop through live opportunities, direct feedback, and practical guidance — not just formal training.
- Entrepreneurial operator. You’re comfortable building in an evolving environment, creating structure without unnecessary bureaucracy, and taking ownership when the path isn’t fully defined.
- Commercially grounded. You understand revenue, pipeline, pricing, gross margin, and deal economics, and you know how to balance growth with profitable delivery.
- Collaborative partner. You work effectively with technical experts, Solutions, Marketing, and Delivery to shape opportunities and bring the right expertise to client challenges.
Experience selling complex professional services is particularly relevant. Technology services experience is valuable, but what matters most is a proven ability to sell complex solutions through a consultative, business-problem-first approach.
Perhaps most importantly, you believe the real measure of a sales leader isn’t just the business they win, but the capability they leave behind. You know how to turn personal experience into shared practice and individual talent into collective strength.
You don’t just know how to win. You know how to build a team that knows how to win, too.
