**This role requires occasional presence at our Rhode Island headquarters and on-site engagement with New England clients.**

You’ve built expertise that most organizations are still trying to understand.

Helping business and leaders navigate AI, intelligent automation, emerging technologies, and the rapid ly evolving future of work. You’ve earned a seat in important rooms, influenced meaningful decisions, and built a reputation as someone people trust when the stakes are high. And while many are still debating what AI might become, you’ve already been helping organizations navigate what comes next.

Now you’re looking for something different. Not a bigger firm, a larger team, or another layer of management.

You want the opportunity to shape a market-facing vision. To conceive services that don’t exist yet. To influence how organizations think about AI and decision-making. To bring clients with you. And to have the ownership and platform to turn your expertise into something far bigger than delivery alone.

SQA Group — a 30-year technology services firm operating at the intersection of data and AI, application engineering, and foresight — is looking for a Practice Leader to lead and scale our AI, Agentic Systems & Decision Intelligence business units, working under the leadership and guidance of our Chief Data & Technology Officer.

This is an opportunity to operate like the owner of your own business unit and sit at the intersection of: technical mastery, revenue acquisition, delivery leadership, client expansion, and portfolio shaping.

One hour you may be helping an executive team envision how autonomous agents will reshape their operating model. The next, designing a new market-facing service offering. Then, partnering on a strategic pursuit with a prospective client. And ending the day leading delivery on an engagement where your expertise materially changes how an organization leverages AI.

This role is for you if you want…

  • more ownership
  • more influence
  • more visibility
  • more strategic impact
  • and a bigger seat at the table

What You Will Own

You will lead the evolution, growth, and delivery of SQA Group’s AI, Agentic Systems & Decision Intelligence practice. This role breaks down approximately to: 35-40% presales and solutioning; 25-30% delivery and engagement leadership; 15-20% billable strategic client work; 15% practice growth, portfolio creation, and service innovation; and 5-10% brand and market presence.

More specifically, you will:

  • Define and evolve our AI, Agentic Systems, and Decision Intelligence service portfolio, identifying where the market is heading and how SQA Group should respond
  • Develop repeatable offerings, methodologies, accelerators, and points of view that differentiate SQA Group in the marketplace
  • Architect both internal and external AI and agentic solutions that combine emerging technologies with measurable business outcomes
  • Build and leverage client relationships—including any you bring with you—to expand our AI practice footprint and generate new opportunities
  • Accelerate our sales journey by partnering with our sales team end-to-end—from executive discovery sessions to needs analysis, solution design, scoping, and proposal development
  • Serve as a primary engagement lead on strategic AI and decision intelligence initiatives
  • Guide clients from experimentation to operationalization, helping them embed intelligence into business processes, workflows, and decision-making systems
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of consultants, architects, engineers, and specialists
  • Support our Technical Solutions Specialists in identifying, vetting, and onboarding emerging AI talent
  • Act as a visible voice in the market through speaking engagements, thought leadership, social media, publications, and industry events
  • Help shape SQA Group’s perspective on the future of AI, automation, human-machine collaboration, and decision intelligence

Who Thrives Here

This role is for a rare type of leader: someone equally energized by emerging technology, growth conversations, and building something meaningful.
You will thrive here if you:

  • Have spent years helping organizations leverage AI, advanced analytics, automation, or emerging technologies and want more ownership
  • Are entrepreneurial and energized by building a business, not simply participating in one
  • Have strong opinions about where AI, agentic systems, and enterprise intelligence are headed
  • Enjoy turning emerging capabilities into practical business outcomes
  • Believe modern technology leaders must understand revenue, positioning, and market dynamics—not just delivery execution
  • Are comfortable being both strategic and hands-on
  • Are excited by the opportunity to shape an entire practice area and leave your fingerprint on its future

What You’ve Likely Done

  • Spent 10+ years leading complex technology consulting engagements
  • Built deep expertise in AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, decision intelligence, agentic systems, knowledge management, LLM applications, or adjacent disciplines
  • Advised executive stakeholders on technology strategy and transformation
  • Played a meaningful role in business development, solutioning, practice growth, or capability development
  • Delivered complex programs while balancing client expectations, commercial realities, and team leadership
  • Established credibility through both technical depth and business impact
  • Developed a reputation as a trusted voice within your organization, industry, or professional network
