Head of Brand & Market Activation
New England Area

Apply now**This role requires occasional presence at our Rhode Island headquarters and on-site collaboration with our New England team.**
You’ve built your career around the moments when something important needed to break through — shaping the corporate story that needed to land, the product or service launch that had to create demand, and the ambiguous idea that needed a sharper narrative, a bigger stage, and a path to revenue.
Over time, your work likely moved beyond traditional marketing into the places where growth is actually created: innovation, corporate strategy, incubation, commercialization, and activation. You became the person leaders call when something is important but not yet fully formed — when the idea is nascent, the market is unclear, and the opportunity needs someone who can turn raw potential into the catalyst that moves the business.
You know how to find the energy inside an idea, give it language, shape the activation strategy around it, rally people behind it, and turn attention into leads, pipeline, and growth. And if you’re honest, that is the work you still want more of — the thrilling, messy, high-impact work of taking something new and making the market care.
You want the seat where growth strategy, brand-building, service activation, and commercial ambition all meet. Where you’re not just amplifying what already exists, but creating the ideas, narratives, and activation strategies that make something new impossible for the market to ignore.
SQA Group is looking for a Head of Brand & Market Activation to turn our most important growth bets into market momentum — moving new ideas from internal potential to external demand, pipeline, and revenue. This is not a traditional Head of Marketing role. It is a market-building role for someone who knows how to work at the intersection of brand, innovation, and commercial activation.
What You Will Own
Reporting to our Chief Growth & Innovation Officer — and serving as an essential partner to our executive leadership team — you will own a portfolio of Activation Charters: high-priority growth mandates tied directly to our revenue goals, innovation agenda, and business strategy.
Your first and most important charter: activate our Foresight & Futures business unit.
Every leader is thinking about the future. What will change? What can’t we see? Are we doing enough to protect, adapt, and grow? Foresight & Futures is our boldest bet on what comes next in business — a practice built to help leaders navigate ambiguity, prepare for multiple possible futures, and pressure-test today’s strategies, investments, and innovations before the market forces their hand.
The stakes are high. Our vision is big. The category is still forming. And you will play a leading role in making SQA Group one of the most visible, credible, and sought-after voices in this space.
Your charter includes:
- Architect the market activation strategy and integrated campaigns that establish Foresight & Futures as a distinct, commercially relevant practice
- Build the narratives, flagship campaigns, content, and thought leadership that make our point of view sharp, useful, and memorable
- Turn our executive Think Tanks, cohorts, and experiential programs into connected engines for audience growth, pipeline, and revenue
- Conceive bold brand moments and unconventional activations that earn participation, attention, and executive engagement
- Shape the integrated demand strategy that connects audience, content, campaigns, experiences, and nurture — and partner with Growth Marketing & Operations and Sales to turn market attention into qualified opportunities, pipeline, and revenue
While Building What’s Next, You’ll Keep Other Growth Priorities Moving
Foresight & Futures will hold the majority of your initial focus, but you won’t be single-threaded. You will also advance a focused portfolio of secondary Activation Charters tied to SQA Group’s other critical growth priorities. That might mean:
- Partnering with technology leaders to bring our newest AI and decision intelligence capabilities to market
- Working with strategic technology partners to create joint and integrated go-to-market campaigns
- Spotting a market shift and creating the story, campaign, or point of view that gives SQA Group a credible place in the conversation
- Taking a new service, piece of intellectual property, or strategic priority and building the activation strategy required to test, validate, and grow market demand
Your job is not to do everything.
Your job is to recognize what deserves focused activation, make smart choices about where SQA Group’s market-building capacity can create the greatest enterprise value, mobilize the right internal and external resources, and stay accountable for turning our most important growth priorities into commercial traction.
No part of the business is outside your reach. But you will be the leader who helps determine which pillars need focused activation, where SQA Group’s market-building capability should be leveraged, and which opportunities, capabilities, and strategic priorities matter most to our growth and future.
This Role Is for You If You Want…
- To build markets around new ideas, emerging services, strategic bets, and capabilities that are still taking shape
- Real influence over how SQA Group’s next growth moves are named, framed, launched, and scaled
- Ownership of the activation strategy, narrative, flagship campaigns, and path to market — with the freedom to personally create the highest-value work
- To lead a growing activation capability — setting direction, developing talent, and mobilizing internal specialists, contractors, agencies, and collaborators without becoming the default executor of every marketing need
- To write again — visibly, regularly, and in ways that shape how executives think, engage, and buy
- To create integrated campaigns, thought leadership platforms, events, and brand moments that build both demand and belief
- The autonomy of a functional leader, the proximity of a strategic partner, and the builder’s satisfaction of making progress before everything is fully figured out
Who You Are & What You’ve Built
- 10+ years building brands, creating integrated campaigns, and leading the market activation or commercialization of new services, capabilities, business lines, or strategic growth initiatives in B2B professional services, consulting, technology, or agency environments
- You have repeatedly taken opportunities that were still ambiguous, underdeveloped, or commercially unproven and helped determine how they should be positioned, activated, tested, and grown in market
- You built your career as a marketer who creates. Writing, storytelling, campaign development, and market positioning are core to your craft — but you also know how to build the demand engine that turns great work into pipeline and revenue
- You know HubSpot (or a similar platform) and understand how audiences, campaigns, nurture, conversion, attribution, leads, and pipeline connect
- You have partnered directly with executives, Sales, and technical or advisory leaders, translating complex priorities into compelling market opportunities
- You do not need someone to hand you the campaign strategy, messaging architecture, channel plan, or first draft. You move fluidly between strategy and execution, and know how to create momentum when the work is still ambiguous
You have enough experience to challenge senior leaders. Enough curiosity to enter unfamiliar spaces and find the activation path. Enough creative range to shape the story, campaign, and demand engine.
And enough bias toward action to make things happen before the playbook is obvious, the team is fully built, or someone else goes first.
